COMMISSION ON SPECTROCHEMICAL AND OTHER OPTICAL PROCEDURES
FOR ANALYSIS (V.4)
Number: 540/20/95
Title: Identification, Coordination and Extension of Bioanalytical
Sensors Projects
Coordinator(s): R.
Niessner, T. Vo-Dinh,
R.A. Durst, D.
Thvenot (I.7) and G.G.
Gauglitz
Remarks: I.7, V.5, biotechnology
Completion Date: 1999 - project abandoned
Objective:
There are currently two projects related to definitions
and classification of biosensors in the Analytical Chemistry Division
(V.5 project on electrochemical biosensors and new V.4 project on optical
biosensors). The main objective of this project is to identify resources
in IUPAC to develop additional aspects in other types of biosensors
using different detection schemes such as thermal detection and mass-based
detection (e.g. surface acoustic waves). This project will also coordinate
the various different efforts to establish a stronger focus in the Analytical
Division in the important area of bioanalytical sensors
Progress:
First draft from Niessner will be revised. Vo-Dinh will communicate
with Niessner and together they will establish members of the working
party.
